Transportation and ground access
Boston Logan is located along Boston Harbor, about 5 km from Downtown Boston, and is connected with the metropolitan area by taxis, subway services, buses, water transportation and rental cars. The free On-Airport Shuttle links the terminals with Airport Station, the Rental Car Center, Economy Parking Garage and the water transportation dock.
Each terminal has designated pick-up areas and dispatch staff to organize service and direct passengers to authorized taxis.
The Silver Line picks up passengers at the terminals and provides access to Downtown Boston, with connections to the Red Line at South Station. Travel from Logan toward the city is free, including the transfer to the Red Line.
The free On-Airport Shuttle complements these services by linking the terminals with Airport Station, the Rental Car Center, Economy Parking Garage and other airport facilities.
The terminals are connected with Airport Station by free On-Airport Shuttle buses. From the station, the Blue Line provides access toward central Boston and connections with other MBTA lines.
The dock is connected with the terminals by Route 66 of the On-Airport Shuttle and provides access to ferry and water taxi services linking the airport with different points around Boston Harbor and other waterfront terminals in the region.
Connections between the terminals and the Rental Car Center are provided by the free On-Airport Shuttle, which operates regularly between the facilities.
Getting between terminals
Boston Logan has four passenger terminals identified as A, B, C and E, each with its own check-in, baggage claim and ground transportation areas.
Public travel between the terminals is provided by the free On-Airport Shuttle.
Terminals B, C and E are connected by post-security pedestrian routes, allowing certain connections without passing through security again. Terminal A remains separate from this secure-side network while a new post-security connector to Terminal B is under construction.
An airport integrated into Boston’s waterfront, with both land and water transportation links and a terminal system connected by free shuttle services and post-security pedestrian connections.
