Distinctive featureOpened on May 23, 2010, it was the first international airport built in the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks. It replaced the former Panama City-Bay County International Airport (PFN) and was developed on a new site covering approximately 4,000 acres in Bay County.
Transportation and ground access
Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located in northwestern Bay County and is accessible by road via State Highway 388, with connections to State Road 77 and State Road 79. Ground transportation options include taxis, app-based ride services, shuttles, limousines, private transfers and rental cars.
Uber and Lyft also operate at ECP. The designated rideshare pickup area is located across the roadway, near the entrance to the covered parking area and opposite the main terminal entrance.
Rideshare signage directs passengers from the terminal to the appropriate pickup point.
Rental counters are located inside the terminal on the lower level, near the baggage claim area. Vehicles are collected within the airport complex.
Rental car counters remain open until approximately 30 minutes after the arrival of the final scheduled flight. When a reservation is linked to a flight, rental companies monitor the flight’s arrival time.
