Ground transportation
Salt Lake City International Airport offers several transportation options, including TRAX light rail, taxis, app-based rideshare services and airport shuttles. The rail station is located next to the terminal, while other ground transportation services use designated pickup areas outside the building.
Uber and Lyft also operate at the airport. Their designated pickup areas are located along B-Lane on the ground level of the terminal.
Passengers using rideshare services should request their ride through the appropriate app and follow the signs to the designated pickup location.
Airport Station is located outside the terminal on the east side of the ground level. Passengers can reach the station by exiting through Door 1A and following the signs east.
The Green Line serves downtown stations, including City Center, and connects with the regional FrontRunner rail service at North Temple. FrontRunner provides access to other communities along the Wasatch Front, including Ogden and Provo.
Routes, schedules and fares are available on the official UTA website.
Hotel shuttle pickups take place on the ground level of the terminal, between columns 1B and 5B.
Regional shuttle operators provide transportation to various destinations, including ski resorts and communities outside Salt Lake City. Some companies have service counters on the ground level, while others require advance reservations.
Passengers should confirm pickup locations and transportation arrangements directly with their chosen provider before traveling.
The facility is accessible from the terminal through two pedestrian bridges connected to the baggage claim area. Passengers renting a vehicle from an on-airport company can reach the rental counters without taking a shuttle bus.
Off-airport rental car companies may provide shuttle transportation from designated pickup areas.

Getting between concourses
Salt Lake City International Airport has one main terminal and two gate areas, known as Concourse A and Concourse B. The concourses are connected by pedestrian tunnels beneath the airport apron.
The Central Tunnel, which opened in October 2024, provides a direct connection from the main terminal plaza area to the central entrance of Concourse B. The airport also has the Mid-Concourse Tunnel, an additional pedestrian connection between the two concourses.
Passengers travel between concourses on foot, with moving walkways available along parts of the route. Because some gates are a considerable distance from the security checkpoint, travelers should allow sufficient time to reach their departure gate, particularly when moving between concourses.
The Central Tunnel features The River Tunnel, an immersive art installation by Gordon Huether inspired by Utah’s rivers and natural landscapes. Its distinctive blue lighting, sculptural ceiling and terrazzo flooring make it one of the most recognizable architectural features of the airport’s redevelopment.
