Check real-time flight status at New York - LaGuardia Airport (LGA). Review schedules and possible delays before heading to the terminal or arranging your transportation.
Opened in 1939, LaGuardia is notable for its proximity to Manhattan and the extensive redevelopment of its passenger facilities. Its modern Terminals B and C stand alongside the historic Marine Air Terminal, which opened in 1940 and is known for its Art Deco architecture and its role in transatlantic flying boat services. The historic building, designated Terminal A, no longer handles scheduled commercial passenger flights.
Ground transportation
LaGuardia is located in northern Queens, beside Flushing Bay and Bowery Bay, with road access via the Grand Central Parkway and New York City’s major urban roads. There is no subway or railway station inside the airport terminals, but public buses connect passengers to the city’s transit network. Taxis, ride-hailing services, private transfers and rental cars are also available.
Uber and Lyft also operate at LaGuardia, although pickup locations differ by terminal. At Terminal B, Ride App Pickup is located on Level 2 of the parking garage, while Terminal C uses the inner arrivals roadway. Passengers should follow airport signage and check their app for the assigned meeting point.
Yellow taxis operate under fares regulated by New York City, while ride-hailing apps display the applicable price before booking. Travel time and costs depend on the destination, traffic conditions and type of service.
Passengers should avoid unsolicited transportation offers from individuals approaching travelers outside authorized pickup areas.
The Q70 LaGuardia Link provides free service from Terminals B and C to Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street and Woodside. It connects with several subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road, making it one of the main public transportation options for reaching Midtown Manhattan.
The M60 Select Bus Service links the airport with Astoria in Queens and continues into Upper Manhattan, with connections to several subway lines and Metro-North Railroad in Harlem.
Other local routes, including Q72 and Q90, connect Terminals B and C with parts of Queens, including Rego Park and Flushing. Route Q33 serves the area around the historic Terminal A, which is currently closed to commercial passenger traffic.
The MTA network uses OMNY contactless payments. The Q70 is free, while other bus routes are subject to standard MTA fares.
Current routes, schedules and travel information are available on the official MTA website.
Some nearby airport hotels provide complimentary shuttles for their guests. Service availability, operating hours and reservation requirements depend on the property.
Private transfers can also be arranged to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and other destinations in the metropolitan area, as well as for ground connections to John F. Kennedy and Newark Liberty airports.
Passengers should confirm their operator’s assigned pickup location before leaving the terminal.
Unlike airports with a consolidated rental car center inside the terminal complex, LaGuardia uses complimentary shuttle services to transport passengers to nearby rental car locations.
Pickup areas are marked in the ground transportation zones. Terminal B has a designated rental car shuttle area, while Terminal C provides stops near its transportation center.
Passengers should confirm pickup and return instructions, along with the exact rental office location, directly with their chosen company.
Information about rental car companies and shuttle connections is available on the official LaGuardia Airport car rental page.
Getting between terminals
LaGuardia provides a complimentary All Terminals Shuttle service connecting the terminals and other airport facilities, including parking areas and locations used by rental car companies.
The shuttle operates throughout the day, with designated stops near the terminals. Passengers traveling between Terminals B and C can use this service when their journey requires moving between the public areas of the two buildings.
Terminals B and C have separate security checkpoints and boarding areas, so travelers should confirm their departure terminal before arriving at the airport.
