Ground transportation
Northwest Arkansas National Airport offers several ground transportation options, including taxis, app-based rideshare services, private transfers and car rentals. Because the airport is located outside the region’s main urban centers, travelers are advised to arrange transportation before arriving.
One of the operators listed by the airport is Jim’s Express Shuttle & Taxi, which has a service location near Baggage Claim 1.
App-based rideshare services, including Uber and Lyft, are also available, allowing passengers to request rides directly from their mobile devices.
Travelers should check the pickup instructions provided by their transportation company or rideshare app, as designated meeting points may vary depending on the service.
Operators listed by the airport include Pinnacle Car Services, which offers chauffeured transportation and has a designated meeting point near the terminal escalators.
Taxi and private transfer companies also provide transportation to hotels, business districts and other locations across the region.
No regular public bus route with a confirmed stop at the airport terminal has been identified. Although public transit networks operate in nearby cities, these services should not be confused with direct airport transportation.
Travelers are encouraged to arrange transfers in advance, particularly when traveling beyond Bentonville or the region’s main urban areas.
Information about transportation providers is available on the official airport website.
On-airport rental car companies include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.
After completing the rental process, passengers should follow their rental company’s instructions to the designated vehicle pickup area. Pickup and return procedures may vary between providers.
Renting a car offers a convenient way to travel independently between Northwest Arkansas cities and reach other communities and destinations throughout the region.
Getting between concourses
Northwest Arkansas National Airport has one passenger terminal with two departure areas, Concourse A and Concourse B, connected by indoor pedestrian walkways.
Both concourses are accessible through a shared Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoint, which provides access to all departure gates.
Passengers can walk between the departure areas without using automated trains or internal shuttle buses.
The terminal also offers shops, passenger waiting areas and other amenities beyond security, with pedestrian access to the departure gates in both concourses.
Northwest Arkansas National Airport was developed as a regional airport project involving five cities and two counties: Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, Siloam Springs and Springdale, together with Benton and Washington counties.
Commercial operations began on November 1, 1998. The airport was designed to provide shared air transportation infrastructure for a growing region made up of several cities rather than serving a single urban center. Its ceremonial dedication took place on November 6, 1998, with President Bill Clinton in attendance.
